The sound is clean and precise, but at the same time musical and smooth. It clearly outperformed all competing solid-state offerings at that time. The sound quality is rivaled today only by newer and more expensive gear. The phono section is still one of the smoothest regardless of cost. You will not be disappointed with this items performance. Lemo cables are generally not available in any stores and must be custom ordered from Lemo or one of their distributors (who also fabricate them on a custom basis). These connector cables sell for at least $100 per cable (need L & R for stereo) so $200 for each device to be connected to the pre-amp. Dont be fooled into buying an ML-1 or other high end component that requires Lemo cable unless you already have them or have them ready to order.
