We serviced the driver boards to restore proper sliding bias function but after extended use the unit went into protection and no longer powers on. We sent the unit to the Krell factory for further diagnosis. I found this today behind a spare set of JBL 300 speakers I have stored away, forgot I had it. I think it came from a repair shop as non working many moons ago, when I tried to power it up through a variac it tripped the GFCI as soon as I got to a few volts. May be a bad transformer but I dont know, THIS IS NOT A DIAGNOSIS! Im not interested in repairing it, Ive been doing motorcycle racing lately and having less interest in audio gear, so not interested in any audio trades. This one had a bizarre x-over freq so I changed all parts required to create a 24 db slope at 100 hz. This was done by me but via the support of David at Krell and Mike Bettinger of luminous audio. I can now change the frequencies for this unit or any kbx for that matter. All polystyrene or polypropylene caps and metal film 1% resistors. I cleaned the pots with deOxit 5. This is a wonderful example of one of the finest crossovers ever made and in excellent condition. The last photo is the unit showing the new caps on the x-over board at 100 hz. This unit is 100% and ready to roll! A rare find these days.

I CONTACTED KRELL SUPPORT BY EMAIL ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND THEY SAID THEY CAN FIX AND REFURBISH THIS CARD TO NEW BUT I JUST NEVER HAD IT DONE AND NOW DONT HAVE THE AMP ANYMORE AND THIS HAS JUST BEEN STORED IN STORAGE.
