Up for your consideration we have this original Klipsch 12” subwoofer pulled from a KSW200 active powered subwoofer from the mid 90’s. It actually still works and produces thunderous bass response, but when you get to 12 o clock on the gain distortion ensues. I only recently came to find out the woofer surround was torn on one side, as I rarely would set the gain higher. The sub was damaged in transit as someone helping me move didn’t realize the sub weighed 70lbs and the down firing woofer was totally unprotected. This sub was never abused at all during my ownership. I honestly didn’t realize anything was wrong until one night when I really turned up the volume. The Bass was powerful but sounded like a rattling car sub. In other words it’s a very strong woofer and according to the Klipsch website it is 4 ohms and handles a continuous 250 watts RMS. Maybe one of you Refoam experts can repair this woofer and restore its prowess to beast mode. The surround texture doesn’t feel like foam it’s actually quite rigid. It’s an old school paper cone woofer with a heavy duty magnet that pushes the 4 ohm single voice coil into the mid to lower 20hz ranges. Put speaker as is-for parts. When hooked up it did work but made a popping sound and did not sound great. The speaker control module that was with it is faulty so it may just be a problem with the module, or the speaker may be blown, I am not sure, which is why I am selling it for parts. Speaker weighs 16 pounds without packaging so not much I can do about shipping price. I have the other speakers that went with this listed in their own auction if interested and they do work, and I could combine shipping if both are purchased.
