This listing is for a KLH Model Eight 8 FM Tube Radio and speaker. With its original speaker intact, it produces beyond beautiful sound and I'm actually listening to it right now. I acquired it from my aunt in 1994 who purchased it in Washington DC. Perhaps a professional would consider it needed a tune up or something but I use it all the time and nothing compares. The serial # on the receiver is 011306. The serial # on the speaker is 009327. I'm not technical in the least but it's all original - has never needed servicing or any parts replaced in the 30 years I've owned it The label on the side of the receiver is where my aunt purchased it in the 60's as far as I know. There's only one mark marring the walnut finish on the top surface of the speaker. It's a ring where someone placed a glass on it before I owned it. Otherwise it's excellent. I can't answer any questions about the inner workings of this radio but can only say it really excels soundwise and the compact size is also so desirable for someone who has limited space. It originated in Cambridge Massachusetts at KLH Research and Development Corp on Cross Street. I would prefer to ship each piece separately therefore minimizing chances of damage. The shipping charge listed is for both shipped together in one box. It appears that I may have to list each piece separately in order to do this so I will ship together very well packed but if buyer wld prefer 2 separate boxes we can discuss. A local pick up would be fine. My apologies for lack of technical details but i noticed there's many sources online for that info-actually barely been moved within the home for my 30 years-my 'untrained' ear only knows it's good. Pls be aware I can't 100% confirm that my aunt didn't have it repaired in her 30+ years.
