This listing is for one pair of Kimber Kable Monocle - XL speaker cables. These are very high quality cables that will allow you to get the very highest possible sound quality that your amps and speakers are capable of. These cables are also quite expensive at $1940 for the pair. Ive used them for two years and have not done anything more than hook them up (once) and disconnected them (once) today for this listing. The ends are all in perfect condition, and the aluminum pieces that hide the portion of the wire where the positive leg and negative leg separate from each other are perfect. I did not notice any marks. These are truly a 9.5 to 10 out of 10. The speaker end has high quality WBT banana plugs that expand with a thumb wheel so they hold on tight. The amplifier end has oversized 5/16 spade connectors that use a bi-metal design so that your amplifier connectors compress them slightly and therefore stay tight due to the spring pressure they apply. These are BEAUTIFUL! Now, regarding the sound. If you fall into the camp that believes that speaker cables dont matter, then stop reading and head to Lowes. Im sure they have some lamp cord at a very cheap price. All joking aside, I absolutely was in that camp until I was allowed to borrow a pair of longer Kimber Kables to take home and listen to. All I can say is WOW! Now, I dont want to exaggerate the difference between these and my old 12 AWG generic cord, but there absolutely IS a difference in the sound. If you have the appropriate equipment that allows for enough transparency, I am confident you will notice too. In my case, the high frequencies became smoother and yet more detailed at the same time. Definitely not brighter, nor would I say darker or more laid back. I would say that the resolution moved up a small but undeniable amount. For what its worth, these were used with Class Delta Mono amplification on a pair of Legacy Audio Focus SE speakers. The processor was a JBL SYNTHESIS SDP-55. I will say that any difference in the midrange or below was very slight and is quite possibly the result of my initial excitement over hearing ANY improvement from cables. If you were thinking about taking the leap into high-end cables, and your amplifiers are positioned close to your speakers, dont buy new. Give these a try and be glad you did.
