Ive been buying up super clean vintage tuners and tweaking. Step one is a COMPLETE cap job. Every single electrolytic capacitor is replaced. Then I clean anything that needs it. Finally I tweak it for as much performance as possible.I use a:HP 8903B Audio AnalyzerHP 8656 Sweep GeneratorSound Technology ST1000A Sweep GeneratorHP8594 Spectrum AnalyzerVarious DVM, Freq Counters, Oscopes, Etc as needed.This particular unit has adjustments for lowest THD, Maximum Sensitivity, Tracking, 19KHz pilot cancellation, minimum crosstalk.Meter Calibration. Im not up against a clock like most manufacturers are so I can let the tuner warm up for a full hour before alignment. After completion I run it for a few days and recheck. This tune is as good as it ever was, probably better. This one is in amazing condition considering its age. I love talking Hi-fi so please ask questions!
