Used Kenwood KT-9900. I got this used in 2004 and immediately had it upgraded by Ed Hanlon at Antenna Performance for $429. Antenna Performance is no longer online and Ed Hanlon has apparently passed away so I cant give you any details of what he did but I included several photos of the tuner circuit board so if you are knowledgeable about these you can hopefully see the modifications. I intended to incorporate this tuner into my home stereo system I was assembling at the time but ended up not using it at all so it has been sitting in my closet for the past 19 years or so. All meters and indicator lights work, I ran it for 3 hours and the audio output is fine. I was using an inexpensive dipole antenna and it pulled in a number of FM stations nicely. Cosmetically overall it is in pretty good shape (see pictures) - the bottom of the unit is a bit messy but other than some minor scratches there is a nick on the faceplate above the Tuning meter and depending on the viewing angle there is an anomaly visible near the Signal meter. Kenwood KT-1020L Quartz Synthesizer AM FM Stereo Tuner from the 1990s, in fully working and excellent condition. Showing minimal signs of use for its age with just the odd light scratches as expected and a small light dent to the top left hand cover (See photos). Both auto and manual tuning find the channels you are looking for with ease, and it sounds great! The front display is operational and readable, however it maybe seems very slightly dim to me (see photos). Perhaps thats a normal thing compared to todays electronics, Ill let you decide.... I have included a reprinted copy of the Kenwood KT-59 manual, which is basically the same tuner except for the FM/AM connections on the rear, however the push button operations are identical for usage. As such the manual should be used as a guide only.
