Der kleinere Bruder war der KA-305. Der KA-405 zählte noch zu den High-Speed-Verstärkern der gesamten großen Baureihe (KA-501 bis KA-907), was auf eine schnellere Signalverarbeitung hinweist. Er verfügt über zwei beleuchtete Power-Meter und leistet stattliche zwei mal 70 Watt sinus nach DIN an 4 Ohm, was für 698,- DM schon sehr ordentlich war.
