PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION! Huge Trio / Kenwood KR-6170 receiver from about 1971(!) for sale. Still in good condition for a receiver more than 50 years old and even the wood still looks really good! This is a massive beast of a vintage tuner amp and even has a built in drum machine, a spring reverb, a guitar and microphone inputs!! At the time that would have been the absolute all inclusive home entertainment package: Two phono inputs, two tape deck inputs, two Aux inputs, four separately switchable speaker outputs etc. etc. This receiver would be fantastic with some vintage big Ditton speakers or similar....A true vintage audio enthusiasts dream! A few light bulbs are down so the three VU meters on the right dont light up .... the VU meters themselves are working though. I have pretty much tested all functions and all seems to be working correctly, but when I started testing I noticed that after being in storage for some time, the left speaker outputs are not working anymore and this is also true for the headphone outputs! They are obviously fed from the same amp. Most likely just a capacitor or a transistor .... Also the start / stop switch for the beat box has broken off (seems common with these receivers as many other photos I found on the internet show the same problem), but I can still be operated with a screw driver. Please study the photos for the overall condition! The first two photos are generic ones from the internet. There is one of these monsters currently for sale for £1.200.- in a hi-fi shop if you google the model! So, one more time, although the amp sounds great even compared with my recently refurbished Quad preamp and amplifier, the left side has currently no output. Most likely a transistor or capacitor. I have priced the receiver accordingly and to allow for repair of the amplifier section and to bring it back to it’s former glory! There is an audio engineer in West London who is very reasonably priced which I could recommend. No guarantee, no returns as private seller! Collection preferred - for obvious reasons! ;-) Postage outside of the EU will be a more expensive, please ask before bidding! The expected dimensions of the parcel should be around 70x60x30cm and the weight will be around 22.5kg. A shipment to the US might therefore be around £150.- .
