Here is a pair of one of my favorite speakers, if you are looking then you will be familiar with them. The doughnuts on the bass speakers have been replaced before I bought them. I have taken plenty of photos to show the condition of the speakers, there are some age related marks but overall they are a thing of beauty and a great design. These are a matched pair and will benefit from a powerful amplifier, I will be listing my Quad 909 for sale if you are interested. I have the feet for the speakers which are pictured but I do not have the grills. They are a matched pair. For sale are a pair of KEF Reference 105 3-way speakers. I am probably going to finally move my beloved 105s on after many years together. The mid/tweeter section has been recapped with a Falcon kit. Original bass-head jumpers replaced with a nice set of aftermarket connectors. I felt the bass improved after this. The full head and bass can covers are present and in excellent condition with tight fabric. One has a very small hole near the base. Condition is I would say 7 or 8 out of 10- there are some small chips in the wood veneer (pictured) but they are very minor. The gravitas and beautiful reproduction of music with these is truly special, and I have never understood why they arent revered alongside the Tannoys and IMFs of this world, they are every bit the equal of those or better. When released in 1977 they were standing at the forefront of what could be achieved in sound reproduction and they still stand up today with their almost full-range reproduction, wonderful soundstage thanks to the steerable heads, and well-balanced delivery. Although they like big wattage/current, they always produce a beautiful sound even with few watts- big amounts just reveal how devastating they can be! Also sound surprisingly good at low volumes- some of my most memorable liatening sessions with these have been at midnight, with the volume low. Obviously they work to their best in bigger rooms but as a sealed box design, they dont have bloated bass (although it goes very deep indeed), and work well in smaller spaces than you might think! Leds and circuit removed, I still have these and will include them. I also have the grille meshes for the mids and tweeters which will of course go with the speakers. These are great-sounding speakers. Purchased new in March 2022. Selling because they are too big for the room, and we are downsizing our whole system. (see my other listings, including the optional grille covers) Each speaker weighs about 130 pounds, and when boxed up they are over the 150-pound weight limit for packages, so they will have to be shipped by freight.Local pickup is possible - located in central New York state.
