We tested this unit with several DVDs and VHS tapes, unit works great majority of time but once in a while it may not read a dvd on first try in which case you just have to open and close disc tray and it will play. Fast forward and rewind work fine on VCR. There is some scuffs and scratches, mostly on topside of player. Comes with power cable and remote.
