JVC RC-770LB Radio Cassette Boombox. Serviced & Working in Rare Beautiful Condition! Here we have a fantastic example of a vintage JVC Radio Cassette Recorder in superb condition. One for the collector, enthusiast or music lover! It is in full working condition, having just been serviced. It has had a new belts fitted. Additionally, the head, capstan, pinch roller and pulleys & idlers have been cleaned. The internal switches have been cleaned, and the internal & external casings have been hygienically deep cleaned & polished. The motor speed had been checked, and all cassette functions perform correctly. The transport controls move freely but with reassuring feedback. The eject mechanism works perfectly, and the Dolby Noise Reduction functions correctly. The radio is very clear, and picks up many FM Stereo stations very well (showing that the circuitry is functioning correctly) and the aerial is original, fully intact and corrosion free, with the tip still present. It also picks up clear LW and MW, subject to your location. The handle is secure and sturdy, retaining its position without flopping around, and with beautiful chrome end caps. This awesome looking boombox has built in stereo microphones, plus a headphone socket, and stereo external microphone inputs. It will work from a mains lead, DC adaptor or batteries (not supplied), and the mains voltage is adjustable for use pretty much anywhere in the world. It has been tested with both mains power and batteries at the time of listing, and a video of it working is available. The battery cover is present and snaps in reassuringly. All original knobs, switches etc present and in working order, with smooth and crackle-free dials. This lovely stereo is over 40 years old, so please remember that you are not buying a new unit - there are of course some signs of wear associated with decades of enjoyment. However, it is a great sounding (and very loud) unit, having just been serviced - so it’s ready to go - either as a decoration, or a cool retro radio cassette for the home or studio, etc. A lovely, portable, vintage but functional item - a rare opportunity in this condition with a service. The auction is for the unit only. The required power lead is a readily available figure of 8 lead brand new for just a few pounds, so I prefer not to risk transit damage from the plug to this vintage, irreplaceable (in this condition) stereo. Collection is preferred, but postage will be well packaged, tracked and insured.
