This is a JVC HR-DVS3U Mini DV / Super VHS player/recorder. It supports playing/recording mini DV tapes, super VHS tapes, as well as regular VHS tapes. However, this unit is not in working condition, at least the VHS side, as I tried putting a VHS tape inside and it did not seem to know how to begin playing it. The VHS tape was inserted in and taken by the machine and lowered and locked into its position inside the VHS slot; however the unit did not seem to be able to play it. With some difficulty, I was able to get the tape out. The mini DV side is untested, as I have no mini DV tapes to test it with. The unit does not seem to respond to connection with an AV cable either, as it proved unresponsive when hooking it up to a screen. I also don’t own an S-Video cable, so I can’t test the input for that. I also do not have the remote for this unit, so it is being sold without it. As such, I am listing this unit as for parts only. The unit is still in great cosmetic condition other than minimal scratches and signs of use, and some writing next to the VHS slot.
