Very good condition vintage 8 track player/recorder from JVC - model CHR-250UB. Plays well - speed is accurate, track 1 through 4 sound balanced in dynamic range and stereo left/right, all track lights work, meters illuminate when in record mode, fast forward and eject operate as they should. I have no reason to believe that record has any issues, but I don’t have any blank tapes to test. When record is engaged, the meters do light up as they should . Control contacts have been treated and the inside of the unit has been cleaned and checked out. The belt is in good condition and shows no sign of degradation. The wood veneer cabinet is in excellent condition with all four rubber feet intact. The face is very nice for a unit of this age. All knobs and switch covers are present and in good shape. This unit is not perfect, but is in excellent shape and working condition considering it is from the 70s. It’s ready to go…take it out of the box, plug-into your receiver or amplifier aux jack, and start listening to tapes! The heads have been freshly cleaned and are ready to play music.
