JVC Vintage Cassette Recorder 9115FB Rare Collectors Item. Tested Working. Stunning and extremely rare vintage cassette recorder from JVC. A very rugged unit, with a solid aluminium handle and heavy duty body. Amazing eject mechanism - over engineered really, but it would give James Bonds ejector seat a run for its money - has hardly been used in about 50 years. I cleaned the head, capstan and pinch roller as a matter of course. The battery terminals are clean, and the unit has been tested on mains and batteries (not supplied). There is an aux and mic inputs, earphone ut, and a DIN connection for integration with other units. Tested and in stunning condition. Not messed with - still has the original table ties inside. The belt is in remarkably good condition, so I have deliberately left the unit as new inside. I have made a test recording, and it has a sensitive microphone, with a nice playback volume (it still has enough gain to create feedback through the internal speaker if you crank it). Although this was never intended as a music player, it performs surprisingly well as such, although mono (the belt is still running true enough so that its not just for voice playback. The tone control has an excellent sweep, and there is no crackle from the sliders. It is a vintage item, so there are minor marks and the capacitors would probably benefit from a change just due to age, but in super condition for its age - a true collectors piece.
