The cable can still be attached as you can feed it through the hole and wrap it round but I would like you to know this before purchase. Apart from that the speakers are in good working order.

Despite a slight spittiness, voices are clean, clear and naturally balanced, with a lack of coloration that would be creditable at several times the price. While it doesn’t really have the grunt to do justice to a full hi-fi system, it’s an obvious budget choice for a bedroom system, as extension speakers elsewhere around the house, or as the rear channels in a full surround sound AV system.
