I recently had this speaker installed in one of my Fender Champ 5F1 builds. It sounds absolutely amazing, every bit as good as a stock original speaker, and a nearly identical production from Jensen as well, in the same era (late 50s). It has zero buzz, coil rub, or any other kind of undesirable noise. It sounds leagues better than any modern reproduction 6 speaker for a Champ, imho. No damage or issues and the last two photos show a 14.0 and 14.6 d.c. ohm readings on my ohmmeter across the voice coils. The flange opening is about 7 across by 31/2 tall. Offered for your consideration is one (1) vintage Jensen Alnico magnet 3½ inch cone tweeter, USA-made in 1966. As you probably know, Chicago’s Jensen was a prolific speaker company from the 1940’s through the mid 1980’s, and was a leading OEM supplier to the domestic speaker industry in addition to manufacturing their own model speakers. Per the EIA-format date code on the side of the magnet covers, “605”, this tweeters was made by Jensen in the 5th week of 1966. It is identical to their model P35-VAH tweeters, but, being it was ordered by KN Knight for their speakers, it was marked with the OEM part number, AT3I.So, please take a look at my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this classic Jensen high frequency driver should be yours. This Jensen tweeter is in clean, excellent condition. The thin paper cone is flawless and the voice coil dustcap is perfect as well. Plus, the galvanized steel basket is in great shape with no dings or noteworthy oxidation noted. And, the +/- terminals measure the industry-standard .205”, are marked for polarity, and I’ve left a few inches of input wire soldered to the terminals for the new owner’s convenience in splicing-in to their intended application. For being over 55 years old, this is an exceptionally well-preserved tweeter. Most importantly, it’s been fully tested and sounds terrific—clear and strong with the warm vintage tone that makes Alnico magnet speakers so desirable today. Plus, I tested its DC resistance tested at 5.2?, consistent with a nominal 8 ohm driver rating. Lastly, the basket flange measure 3½” square, it stands roughly 2?” high, and the mounting pattern is the standard EIA-spec for U.S.-made 3½” drivers—2¾” adjacent / 4” diagonal, c-t-c.These is a nice find for someone that need a 3½” cone tweeters as a replacement in their 1960’s-70’s Jensen, Knight/KN, Heath, Magnavox, or many other U.S.-made vintage speakers.As pictured and described, this remarkable Jensen 3½” Alnico magnet tweeter is offered at a competitive price. Offered for your consideration is a vintage Jensen part # P15N 15 inch Alnico magnet wide-range woofer, USA-manufactured in 1949. At first I thought that the EIA source/date code, 220919, indicated that it was made by Jensen (220) in the 19th week of 1959 since permanent magnet Jensen woofers from the late 1940’s aren’t encountered very often. But then I saw “original speaker from 1949 Fender amp works well” handwritten on the box that the woofer was stored in, and the 49xx code on the transformer shelf. So, please have a look at my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this remarkable Jensen guitar speaker should be yours. This Jensen 15” extended-range woofer is in relatively clean, good condition. The ribbed, seamed original paper cone does have one old puncture repair, as pictured, with some fading, smoothing, and ingrained dust from the years, but it’s still quite sound structurally. Plus, the vented voice coil dustcap is in great shape with no telltale signs of ever being harmed, and the suspension is cone-integral permanent. In addition, the steel basket has no dents but there is some enamel fading, a bit of surface rust, and a number of tiny scuffs and scratches, as pictured. The ivory, four-piece chip paper flange gasket is notably well-preserved. Also, the magnetic pot covering the Alnico V magnet structure has no flaws, but the bell-shaped cover it should have is missing (I do have the original screw for it). And, the terminal spades have been de-soldered. I also placed a tiny red decal next to positive for the new owner’s convenience. Most importantly, this Jensen 15” speaker has been fully tested and sounds great—very strong with clear, fast midrange, ample bass, and highs that approach the audibility limit. Plus, I tested its DC resistance at 7.1?, consistent with a nominal 8 ohm driver rating. Lastly, the basket measures 15?” diameter, it stands 6?” tall, and the four-corner mounting holes are spaced 10?” adjacent / 14?” diagonal apart, c-t-c. This old Jensen was made to last by American craftsmen, and last it certainly has! As pictured and described, this Jensen P15N wide-range 15” guitar speaker is offered at a competitive price. Description: 1959 JENSEN (P12P?) / B&H 12 Alnico Speaker, 16 ohm, 220936 The speaker is in good vintage condition. It tests 13.8 ohms with a multimeter. The basket and bell are in very good condition. The cone is in good condition with one small spot of damage - very small tear at edge about 1/2 in size. See photos.
