We have not used this since we moved, almost five years ago. It is fully functional and as with all items that I sell, I am happy to pay return shipping and accept return if not fully satisfied. The plates in front are to go in the side if choose to mount in cabinet. I do not, however, know where the remote is. Sorry. As with all my listings, buyers may purchase with peace of mind.
