Description
Offered for your consideration is a pair of vintage JBL LX8 two-way crossover networks with high frequency attenuators removed from my walnut-clad C53 Libra speakers, USA-manufactured c.1969. LX8 crossovers were also used in the C56 Dorian when equipped with the same LE14A 14” Alnico magnet woofer and LE20 Alnico tweeter (1.2kHz crossover) and possibly other period JBL models. So, please see the large photos and read the remaining description to decide if these coveted JBL crossover networks are correct for your needs. This pair of JBL LX8 crossovers is in clean, very good condition. The metal enclosures are in nice cosmetic shape with no dings or scratches, just some minor flaking to the black enamel and some oxidation on the unpainted metal surfaces up front, as pictured. Plus, the metal, push-activated +/- terminals are working properly. And, I’ve bound the wires in pairs for the new owner’s convenience upon delivery. Most importantly, they were recently tested as playing nicely. Plus, the potentiometers for high-frequency attenuation are working and I could detect a variation in output at the three stages. Pretty impressive for still having their original 50+ year-old paper capacitors! As pictured and described, this pair of JBL LX8 crossover networks is offered at a competitive price.
