However, with my AV receiver going out I have no plan to replace it and I need to sell off all of my components. These speakers really need a high powered amplifier to sound their best, and unfortunately this means it would be expensive for me to replace my broken one. I was using a THX Ultra certified amplifier and they worked flawlessly except for one. One of these speakers, and I can’t remember which, has a slight fuzzy sound to it and I can’t figure out why. With that being said, these are sold AS-IS NO RETURNS! I will be insuring these speakers should you choose shipping, but I highly recommend local pickup if possible! Only one speaker has a label on the back, and one speaker has mounting brackets attached to them, and the other speaker has a THX emblem on the front grille. These aren’t in perfect shape, but they still sound amazing except for the one with the slight fuzziness. I put the fuzzy speaker on the side as it’s less obvious than when used as a center channel. These speakers are surplus, since I have similar pair and it sound stunning as front speakers in my home theater setup. I have used many speakers and these perform amazing compared to the best. Cosmetically, the cabinets are in very good condition, drivers and tweeters are perfect since never driven hard. These were in use by elderly parents of a friend so these look in perfect shape. The holding pegs on grilles are broken. The hanging brackets for one speaker is replaced. These does not affect the sound quality or performance at all. Here is a very rare Jamo D6-SUB, a full 15 Subwoofer with 400watt plate amp. This is a superb quality Sub, ive owned it myself for many years, but simply cant justify it anymore in the tiny room i use it in and the proximity to what is now a neighbours bedroom. Not many subwoofers get THX certification, this one goes one further and gets the Ultra badge of approval too. This means that the product has gone through stringent quality and performance testing with the LucasFilm Studios to gain approval for use with their film score and soundtracks. Needless to say, if you like films and effects such as Star wars and other Lucas Studio big titles, this sub is approved for that use over and above its many many rivals. Its size and power, as impressive as they are, do not give off the right impression in my opinion. You look at the size of it and expect it to be hugely overpowering, to the point that all you can hear is bass bass boomy big bass, but youd be mistaken. The reason for that is the gain of the amplifier versus the incoming signal, and superb way you can control the unit to superbly blend it with the rest of you speakers and system. Even in my tiny room, i have it generally set up as a 2.1 stereo music system rather than a multichannel surround sound network of speakers, but i can play any type of music you like, have gorgeous bottom end bass response, and even though the monster is sat staring back at you just 4 feet away, you dont know that the bass is coming from the sub, its simply disappears and youre convinced that it my main two stereo speakers just making epic bass! And thats how a quality sub should be set up, invisible to the ear even if not to the eye if that makes sense. In very good condition, just a few minor marks to the box, cabinet, and a few minor snags on the removable fronts grill that i have pictured for you to clearly see. This can be connected via a standard rca phono lead type connection, line level, no need for high level speaker connections, and can also be daisy chained onto even more subs! I think considering the size and weight, the only option is to either collect in person or see if we can negotiate a deal where i bring it to you myself. Wrapping it and trusting it with a weedy courier would be a guaranteed disaster im sure!
