Adcom GCA 510 Integrated Amplifier Excellent Condition Working + Nad 4225 Tuner Working This is rare Adcom piece sold primarily in the UK and Canada to compete with integrated amplifiers of the day. It was only marketed for about a year or so. It?s essentially the SLC505 passive preamp mated to the GFA 535 amp section. There is no pre-amp stage; it?s a high gain amplifier section mated to a passive line controller.50wpc @ 8 ohms and 75wpc @ 4 ohmsVolume, bal, source and source record are the only controls.Here?s what the Adcom manual says:The GCA-510 is an innovative example of the minimalist school of circuit design. The fuse holder has a broken cap which makes changing the fuse difficult. It currently has a 4 amp fuse installed (the mini GMA type) but requires a 5 amp fuse which I dont have, but I will also include a 6 amp GMA type but use at your own risk since that is oversized. I will include a new fuse holder that takes the larger AGC type fuses and a new 5 amp fuse (AGC type) if you want to install the new fuse holder yourself. I tested the power at almost 100 watts/channel before distortion started to rise over 1%, thats quite a bit more than the rated spec. The currently installed 4 amp fuse worked fine for the power test but if run hard into 4 ohms the 4 amp fuse may blow. All the functions seemed to work fine (as they should) but this amplifier does not have BASS/TREB controls or phono input, its a minimal design that sounds good. Sold ASIS, its not perfect and needs work so sold as parts/repair!
