This will be the best condition model available to buy on ebay. The only way you could get better would be to go back to the 90s and buy it new. Pioneer HPM-100 Speakers Vintage 1970s Hifi Audiophile JBL SPEC high end retro. This is a very nice pair of pioneer HPM-100 speakers with original purchase receipt! Still have the original purchase receipt of £339.95 dated 23/01/1979 This is a very clean and original pair of pioneer HPM-100 speakers, there are a few imperfections here and there, the odd mark to the cabinets but you be hard pressed to find a better pair of Hpm-100, these really do look incredible The sound produced from these speakers is superb! They sound exactly has they should, no rattles or distortion, all 4 drivers in each cabinet are fully functioning as are the level controls for the mid range and tweeter. The centre cap on on of the tweeters and one midrange on one of the speakers has been poked in but it doesn’t effect the operation or sound quality in any way, it’s purely cosmetic but worth mentioning, as otherwise these speakers are in perfect condition The cabinets are very clean and solid, there is NO parting of the wood om these speakers, they have been stored in a dry living room their entire lives so they are as solid as the day they left the factory, there are a few small marks here and there but overall they look fantastic, they really do look like they could of been purchased new a year ago but they where actually purchased new 44 years ago! These are the original 100w version, superior to the later 200w models. Pioneer realised back in the 1970s that they had wildly underrated the power handling ratings of the hpm-100 and as a result where loosing sales from people choosing to purchase other speakers with a higher rated power handling figure so pioneer simply doubled the rated power handling and put a plastic accent ring around the bass port, it’s common knowledge that pioneer did nothing to improve power handling in the 200w version, they are exactly the same…. What’s not so common knowledge however is that pioneer actually started to cut costs and find ways to produce the speakers cheaper as time went on, that magnets on the drivers got smaller the cabinets got lighter list the internal bracing and had thinner padding materials for sound damping. This is the original HPM-100(A) with the larger magnets heavier cabinet construction with internal bracing and proper materials inside for sound damping unlike the later 200w B and C variants. AKAI AM-2350 VINTAGE RETRO 1970S INTEGRATED STEREO AUDIO HI-FI AMPLIFIER This is a beautiful vintage Akai AM-2350 Stereo Amplifier. Its a lovely looking, heavy and highly regarded silver unit from the late 1970s - back when hi-fi components were built like tanks. With its solid aluminium faceplate and illuminated VU peak output meters, this would make a gorgeous addition to any retro / vintage hi-fi rack. It has been in storage for a while but I powered it up today and passed some CD audio through the Aux and Tape circuits and it sounds fantastic - really warm with good highs and lows. I have taken the lid off and given the pots a quick clean with contact cleaner. The illuminated VU meters work fine and are responsive. The faceplate is in good condition with just a few light marks as a result of age, and there is some light tarnishing is visible on the push buttons. The black lid has a few light scratches, some of which have been touched up but these are not visible when the unit is in a rack. Please see my other auctions for a matching AT-2250L Tuner. As this is a used vintage electronic item, there may be things I have failed to pick up on during my appraisal. As a result of this and due to the age of the item, no warranty is given or implied, and the item is sold as seen with no returns. Please view the pictures as they form part of the description.
