Nakamichi 600 Cassette Deck - Serviced I bought this wonderful sounding Nakamichi cassette deck and felt it really needed to be serviced to sound its best so just had that completed and it is splendid now. I am fussy about my audio gear and only sell if I am happy with it and after spending a considerable sum of money this machine is well worth it plus it is the cleanest version I have seen so far. I often see items for sale described as working etc but in reality they do not work as well or perform as they should and there is a big difference, my vintage items are usually serviced to as close as possible to original factory specification for the best and most reliable long term performance. So cheaper is not necessarily better and high sound quality over a longer period is well worth investing in. Postage in U.K. is £25, Europe is £55 and rest of the world estimated at £110, it will be well packed and no returns as it has just been fully serviced costing me over £150.

Tested, it plays, rewinds and fast forwards but the only sound you get is a loud static noise (see video). The meters activate and respond. Some of the buttons are slightly sticky but work fine. Cosmetically it is good but has some issues. Lots of songs, scratches and imperfections throughout. One metal piece needs to be re-glued. Please view all of the photos. Dust cover has a crack so it rests on top rather than clicking in. SOLD AS IS WITH NO RETURNS.

Please see photos. This machine has been verified to be in working condition. It does play, record, ff and rew. The following maintenance has been performed: New capstan belt installed. Internal mechanisms cleaned and re-lubricated. Pivot point for idler shaft disassembled, cleaned and lubricated. Idler and hub wheels have been cleaned. Potentiometers and switches cleaned.
