Good physical condition with the exception of the green paint on the front which is chipped and mostly missing. The red light comes on when powered up but nothing else happens. All the knobs move freely. This Unit is Still To be Considered ***Untested*** The SB-610 is a display to monitor on the air signals. The manual notes that the unit can be used from 160 to 6 meters without tuning or modification. Its primary purpose is monitoring the transmitted signal pattern; the RF envelope, RF trapezoid, or RTTY cross pattern. A rear-panel attenuator can accommodate any transmitter from 15 watts to 1 kilowatt. The SB-610 can also monitor the other stations signal when connected to a receivers final IF amplifier stage, assuming the receiver IF has sufficient bandwidth. This unit came equipped with 3000-6000 KHz coils to match the 3395 KHz IF of Heathkits SB-line and HW-100 series. Monitoring for another IF such as 455 KHz would require substituting the proper coil in the vertical amp plate circuit. Heath originally provided such coils along with instructions in the manual. I suspect that a simple IF transformer primary for a high impedance tube circuit would work fine as a substitute for the plate coil. He amassed his collection over the 55 years he was a HAM by attending innumerable HAMfests, swap meets and likely from his radio club buddies as well. This is a Heathkit SB-610 Monitor Scope. 6-160meters.Reconditioned/Restored/Serviced Replaced all out of spec resistors.Replaced out of spec capacitors.Two Tone Generator fully functional.There wasnt much that needed to be done on this unit. Just a few capacitors and resistors, clean, align and test. The chassis inside is clean. Outside has very few scratches and physical blemishes, but overall for being nearly 60 years old, it is in pretty nice shape. All the potentiometers move smooth. This is more of the ham/shortwave radio equipment I am slowly getting listed. I recently acquired all of it but know nothing about its condition, and i have not tested any of it unless otherwise stated in the description. So most everything will be sold for parts and untested unless stated otherwise. Please look at description and pictures up close to help you. This is a vintage Heathkit SB-610 scope. When I turn it on, the light comes on the front, and the tubes light up in the back. I let it sit a few minutes and warm up. I then tried to figure out how the monitor comes on, and when I turned a dial at the top to the left, a green light came on and it moved across the center screen to thr right. Thats about all I can tell you so I am assuming it works, at least to some point. But for that reason, I am selling as-is. I also have the SB -600 speaker i will be listing it separately. I dont want to try plugging it all together since I dont know what I am doing and blow a tube or something. So, this listing is for the SB-610 only. Its a little dirty from being stored in the shed, I will try to clean it on the outer surface a little but I am sure experienced people will know how to clean it best.
