For sale Vintage boxed Hitachi KHC-1300HE FM/AM radio Another one example of my shrinking radio collection is looking for newhome - Hitachi KHC-1300HE FM/AM portable clock radio with alarm (buzzer andradio alarm). It comes with its original packing (a bit tatty) with instructionleaflet and even blank warranty card. There is even a mono ear piece, whichlook unused (i have my own one and I never used this). This is a really goodlooking small radio (late 80s, I guess) with some minor scratches and someblemishes. I tried to clean it, using IPA and I unfortunately, wiped some ofthe paint under and above the clock, so I decided to leave it as it is. It alsohas plastic case, which split at the top edges - check the pictures. Its not abad receiver, but you shouldnt expect to receive more than local stations, mainly due to short telescopic antenna (just 12/30.5 cm) and tiny loopstick (the internal one). I managed to shoot a short video, which shows how ittunes, but there is no way to be uploaded in Ebay. Send me a message if youwant to watch it. Another two things, which I want to note - the sound and thetuning. The sound is thin, but a bit loud which should not be a surprise, considering the age and the size of the speaker (there are some good picturesin radio museum website). The tuning is direct (I would say), which means thatthe small tuning wheel is directly attached to the tuning capacitator, whichmakes it a bit tricky to tune, especially on weak signals. It requires a bit ofpractice and patience. The battery terminals are clean of corrosion, but thereis some oxidation on one of them (the battery one) - check the pictures. It doesnot reflect on the functioning of the radio, but it might me a good idea to dosome TLC (I just sprayed a bit of contact cleaner, just in case). About thealarm clock - it has buzzer and alarm radio. I have not use it more than once, just to see how it works. Also, there is a very tiny amber light for thedisplay, but it is visible only when its very dark (turned on by keep pressing the small orange button on top). It requires three AAbatteries - one is for the clock and the other two for the radio. Have a lookat the instructions for the batteries installation - the black band should goover the clock battery, so it will secure it properly. There is also a tinymetal pin on it, which is for setting up the clock and the alarm. And the last, but not least - Made in Japan! I do not mind sending abroad, using the Ebays Global shippingprogramme, but please check the delivery fees - they might be too high. Localcollection is always welcome - Im based in Hemel Hempstead, but I work inYarnton, Oxfordshire, so I could agree for collection nearby during the week(Monday-Friday), as well. Thank you for watching!
