Vintage 1980s Hitachi TRK-W540E Radio Twin Cassette Hi-Fi Boombox Ghetto Blaster With Detachable wired speakers Please view my short video in the photo section of the listing showing the ghetto working Excellent Clean Condition, this has been dry stored in my brothers wardrobe for decades and as he is now having a clear out is surplus to requirements. The aerial is fully functionable and extracts and detracts with no bends or kinks, tunes in very easily to your favourite radio station with bands FM, MW, LW & SW. The detachable speakers are wired and there is some damage dents / dings to the left speaker grille, both cassette decks play cassettes, but deck 2 would benefit from having the heads cleaned. The volume control works and is nice and loud, but the left channel speaker volume is quiet. The record function has not been tested and the graphic equalizer works perfectly. The ghetto is supplied with a built in power lead which is fitted with its original Everready 3 pin B.S. Type G plug to be able to run the ghetto on mains electric, but the ghetto can also be powered by batteries of which the terminals are all clean and free of any oxidization and the compartment is nice and clean. The carry handle also functions as intended. Dimension Overall Length 58cm, Height not including carry handle or aerial 22cm, Depth 18cm.

This listing is for a Vintage Hitachi Boombox made in the early 1980s, please see photos. This item is part of my collection of boomboxes and was little used, however because of being moved it does have some scratches and marks mostly on the bottom part of the player and some on the sides too. Please note: The fast forward doesnt work( the belts were replaced some years back and even then the fast forward was slow) but playback is fine and the speed is ok, so I wouldnt recommend you try to fix it but just use it the way it is on playback and dont use the rewind functions. At some point in the future you should consider taking the boombox to a repair place to have it fixed such as replacing the belt and checking any other functions too. The easiest way to power this boombox is to buy on ebay six D size battery adapters that take 3 AA size batteries in each adapter, so total of 18 rechargeable AA batteries, then you will never have to bother with cords and power outlets and where to position the boombox, that is how I use my boomboxes and no longer bother with power cords. If you dont like this option then please note that this boombox is an US model so the voltage it works with is 120v. If you live in a country with 240v then you will need to buy a voltage converter for around $10 on ebay and plug that into the walls power outlet first and then plug the boombox cord into it. You need to also buy a power cord with a plug for your own country as no cord is included with this sale. The power cord is type C8 and can be bought for around $5 on ebay by searching for power cord c8 Only playback was tested before listing and it works fine, no other functions were tested or guaranteed to work, but typically most should work. On vintage electronics some knobs and switches might make crackling noises or not very good contact because they havent been used for a long time, this is normal with vintage electronics, just rotate them many times until they start to work smooth again.
