Vintage 1980s Retro Hitachi TRK-1240E FM-AM Radio Cassette Recorder & Power supply. Condition is used obviously with the age of this unit there are marks & scratches to the housing especially the tape deck door. The unit works,. including the tape deck and radio. Radio and cassette fully working and in good cosmetic condition, although, there is a couple of flaws in the clear, perspex tuner panel: a cloudy patch on the right-hand side and a small crack on the left-hand side! (see last 2 pics)Volume knob is also a bit crackly and sometimes cuts off one speaker which comes back with a twiddle of the knob! Almost certainly just in need of a bit of electrical contact cleaner!Battery compartment is clean and looks free of any previous leakage, although, Ive not actually tested it with batteries (sure itll be fine though)All-in-all, a great looking and sounding, classic boombox thats got an excellent sound (and quite loud too!)As with all my listings, I take lots of pics of the actual item for sale (I do not use stock pics!), so you can see exactly what youre getting and whats included (with no hidden surprises!). Vintage 1980s Hitachi TRK-W540E Radio Twin Cassette Hi-Fi Boombox Ghetto Blaster With Detachable wired speakers Please view my short video in the photo section of the listing showing the ghetto working Excellent Clean Condition, this has been dry stored in my brothers wardrobe for decades and as he is now having a clear out is surplus to requirements. The aerial is fully functionable and extracts and detracts with no bends or kinks, tunes in very easily to your favourite radio station with bands FM, MW, LW & SW. The detachable speakers are wired and there is some damage dents / dings to the left speaker grille, both cassette decks play cassettes, but deck 2 would benefit from having the heads cleaned. The volume control works and is nice and loud, but the left channel speaker volume is quiet. The record function has not been tested and the graphic equalizer works perfectly. The ghetto is supplied with a built in power lead which is fitted with its original Everready 3 pin B.S. Type G plug to be able to run the ghetto on mains electric, but the ghetto can also be powered by batteries of which the terminals are all clean and free of any oxidization and the compartment is nice and clean. This was a great Hitachi product, expensive at the time, got a deal on it bec. of a scratch on the top of the recorder unit; used to record a lot of tv programs, two components, the remote control attaches with long cord, the space-age looking carry case alone is worth it. Might still work with coaxing, but can be fixed by someone who knows how, or used for parts ? LOCAL PICK-UP only.

Hallo Kassettenfreunde, Bastler und Sammler ! Hier biete ich ein recht schweres Hitachi Kassettendeck (6,5 kg) Typ: D- 75 S, hergestellt noch in Japan zwischen 1979 - 82 zum Kauf an. Neupreis um die 600 Mark. Viel besser als der Schrott, den man heute noch neu kaufen kann. Leider aber defekt, nicht betriebsbereit. Es handelt sich um einen sogenannten Straßenfund. Bitte meine detailierte Artikelbeschreibung genau lesen. Tape Deck stammt aus einem Raucherhaushalt (Entrümplung). Test ergab folgendes: Gerät ist defekt, es funktioniert nicht, denn die Riemen haben sich buchstäblich aufgelöst. Beide Motoren drehen. Kassettenfachbeleuchtung funktioniert und alle anderen Birnchen auch. Aufnahme funktioniert insoweit, dass die Leuchtketten ausschlagen.Gerät wurde an einem Saba 9140 Receiver über DIN Buchse angeschlossen und auf Position Aufnahme geschaltet. Optik: Für das Alter akzeptabel, Gerät stammt aus einem Raucherhaushalt. Kratzer und sonstige Gebrauchsspuren am Gehäuse. Das Gerät wurde ca. 30 Jahre nicht mehr benutzt und war total verschmutzt. Außen gereinigt, Innenleben untersucht. Bitte dazu die vielen Bilder ansehen. Es handelt sich um ein hochwertiges Gerät, verfügt über 2 Motoren. Keine Schalter abgebrochen.Tonkopf noch gut erhalten. Bestimmt lohnt sich eine Revision. Wenn neue Riemen eingebaut werden und das Laufwerk gereinigt ist funktioniert es wieder. Fast forward and rewind working on both decks. Equaliser. Stop eject button on the right side is sitting below the others as shown. Doesnt effect operation. Still stops and ejects fine. A little crackle sound on some of the controls at times. Probably would benefit from a little deoxit spray to clean the switches. Due to standing. This is a 1980s player.
