Vintage Heathkit AA-40 (AA-121) Tube Stereo Amplifier Powers on, but still selling for parts/repair. Was powered up with a variac to check for power. Powered on with no smoke, etc. However, one right channel EL34 tube sparked/flashed internally, so amp was then powered off. No other testing was done. I calibrated it per the manual after recapping it when I acquired it years ago, and it held that calibration well until I had to store it away. Its been in storage (in my house) for a few years now, and I put fresh tubes in it (including rectifier tube) to sell it, so it will probably need to be calibrated again. Note that the Wurlitzer 12AX7 that was installed for the pictures is not there any more. It was older, didnt test well on the Hickok 750, so I replaced it with a new (modern)Tung Sol. All the original yellow Aston film caps are still great. Comes with the original manual (not a reprint) and fold out diagrams (which originally came in a folder when these kits were sold new - they werent bound into the manual).
