Although completely functional, this unit is being sold parts only due to the drawer mechanism (although fine opening) does need a little assist in closing. The unit has been opened and pictured for reference only and no attempt to further disassemble was made in order to maintain the integrity of the components within. This is a great discount for anyone in need of parts for another unit, or even better, someone who just doesnt mind giving the player a little help to close (it DOES hold 5 discs, so doesnt need to be open/closed as often). It does have a cosmetic issue on the top of the housing, about a 6 in diameter dent, only millimeters in height, but does not affect any of the components or affect operation at all. Includes a reprint of the service manual with the schematics. Overall, a great buy for a quality system. Almost 30 years old, but still looks as clean as it did off the line (minus the dent).
