Vintage HAMILTON DELUXE reel to reel recorder player. I put fresh batteries in this player and when I depress the buttons I hear static coming through the speaker but the reels do not spin. I have verified that the motor does work but something in the circuitry is preventing the motor from engaging when the buttons are depressed. I have basic gear here to test with and nothing to trace with so its got to be something in the control board. I clean the contact on the switches thinking that might be the culprit but to no avail. This is a pretty rare recorder in that there werent that many of them produced. It is from Japan and Ill include the real of tape that shown in the photo

Lots of space to turn it up. Really fills the room. The 45RPM adapter is built in and works fine. With a twist it goes down and out of the way so you can play LPs.
