Pye 1005 Stereophonic Vintage Record Player, working (mostly). Turntable, arm, controller, speed selector, needle and on light on front all working well. Right speaker works, audio knobs on the front are a bit crackly when turned. Complete with stand. We got it about 10 years ago as a display piece for our living room but barely used. Its been stored in another room for last couple years, before that both speakers worked, so it shouldnt take much work to get it fully functional again. Stand needs a little glueing on top of legs on one side where wood has split; again not a big repair. Wood surface has wear and tear appropriate for its age. All in all a great machine, highly sought after, needs a little TLC but nothing major. I am away on holiday from 30 May to 9 June. I will be available for collection of the item after 9 June.

It have been cleaned inside and outand had the inside and base cover form replaced. The 4 speed BSR deck has been dismalntled and has been cleaned, re-greased and oiled.The auto changer works well and return needle to start of each record.It comes with an original PYE butterfly cartridge and is fitted with a new diamond stereo stylus. The case is overall in excellent condition with no chips or major damage to the woodwork. Stereo has brought an added dimension of space and depth to the record scene - space and depth to the furniture for it too. The Pye Stereophonic Projection System is a revolutionary quality stereo record reproducer in its very size. There are no separate speakers. From a mere twenty two inches of width the sound fills your living room evenly and faithful to the original performance. What creates the stereo sound in this compact unit? Normal living room walls are very good reflection surfaces for sound. The Pye Stereophonic Projection System has no fewer than six loudspeakers: three for each channel, to cover bass, mid-range and high frequencies. The full frequency range as transmitted to the loudspeakers is then angled out either to the adjacent walls of a corner or two hard side walls to create virtual sound sources. By reflection, therefore, a full stereophonic spread of sound is achieved with startling reality. But the realism of sound spread must be supported by the quality of the material fed to the speakers. A transistor amplifier is used for its lack of background noise, its reliability, its treatment of transients, and for the lack of heat problems. Fitted to the high quality auto changer is a unique, new patent design, pick-up arm and cartridge. This unit is mass balanced with a retractable cartridge. Vintage Pye Model 1005 Stereophonic Projection System Record/LP Player. This is in fantastic condition. Couple of bits to point out, the right hand speaker doesn’t seem to be working and the volume knob is loose (probably just needs sticking back on) The left speaker sounds great and goes very loud with just a little bit of crackling when turning up and down. This has been well looked after over the years and is a great project for someone who wants to get it working and sound as it should Collection only for this as it’s fairly big and heavy.

AUDIO-TECHNICA tonearm Model AT-1005 II. This is a used tonearm purchased from an estate sale. This Arm comes with head shell, arm rest, audio cable and Anti skate weight. This arm has smooth motion on both vertical and horizontal axis. It is a used tonearm and does show signs of wear. Please see pictures. I have done my best to show the small scratches. The audio cable has been tested from head shell leads to RCA connectors and is working fine. These type of arms were used commercially in radio stations for years and were standard on many a broadcast turntable. This item is sold as is with no returns.
