This is a very old gramophone- handmade round about the 1920s I suspect. It was my husband’s grandmas’s uncle who made it and it no longer works but did at one time. It’s approximately 20 inches by 18inches- 6 inches deep. It has a lid which fits on top - (very badly scratched). The gramophone parts are- a turntable - with silver metal coloured edgings- some rusted- and a blue felt covering for the gramophones to be placed on - now very dusty. The arm is there- silver coloured metal material - some rusting - and it no longer lifts to go over the turntable as if about to play. The circular end part has the place where the needle would go (rusty) and says on it- ‘ Saturn Electric’ ‘Goldring Mark’. Beneath that is more tiny writing and I can read the word ‘Manufacture’ but the rest is too small. One end of the box is open and inside a mechanism can be seen - again it looks like solid silver coloured mental- about 6 inches long and wide- and deep - and various cogs /wheels- but unless I take the wooden encasement apart I can’t see any clearer. All I know is it weighs a lot! There are various silver coloured metals levers - one says ‘start’ another gives the ‘78’ speed and another ver rusty one, in conjunction with the start levels actually makes the turntable go round - which I have just discovered. There is rusty silver coloured metal handle, plus- two little containers (rusty ) for needles I presume. And a packet of Songster needles- made in England- and a number on. There are are 9 needles in this red box. This has been in our cupboard for years and as we are clearing away many things- it seems a shame to take it to the tip. Someone out there may be interested in the parts or restoring it. It has to be collected as it weighs a lot. /

GOLDRING TURNTABLE, EXCELLENT WORKING ORDER. STYLUS IS A JAPANESE COPY OF ORIGINAL, SOUND VERY VERY GOOD. I HAVE ENCLOSED A NEW GOLDRING BELT, BUT HAVE LEFT THE OLD BELT ON AS IT IS RUNNING FINE. THERE IS A SLIGHT SQUEAK AS YOU TURN IT ON WHICH SUGGESTS AT SOME TIME IT WILL NEED A NEW ONE. THE LID HAS A MILKY SHEEN TO IT WHICH IS ONLY COSMETIC. LOOKS AND SOUNDS VERY MUCH LIKE A REGA DECK. For sale is my faithful Goldring GR1 turntable, which after many years of sterling service has now been replaced by an newer model. This was a mainstay during my CD years so saw very little active service, but when it did the fidelity was always superb. Im back into vinyl in a big way these days so have justified an upgraded system. This works perfectly and will do someone a great turn. Open to reasonable offers for a quick sale.
