It is the upper race of the main thrust bearing. Often it gets lost, when the bearing is disassembled. Without this washer, the turntable will not ride on the bearing balls but slide metal on metal. From a GARRARD LAB 80 MKII Transcription TURNTABLE this part can be used on the Original (Mk I) Lab 80 and the Lab 80 Mk IIThe only difference is that the MKI did not have phono leads, jut female RCA plugs, the MKII has an about 4 feet shielded stereo cable ending in two male RCA Plugs. Otherwise, the part is TOTALLY COMPATIBLE MUTING SWITCH and orig phono RCA Lead Cable . Complete assembly incl all wires and C clip for attachment to mechanism.
