Hi Everyone! Up for auction is a vintage The Fisher tube stereo preamplifier model 400-CX-2 in good original shape. There is no cabinet included and the far right two knobs are missing the gold end caps, otherwise it has all its original Telefunken/Fisher tubes and all the colored lenses on the front are there and knobs are original. No damage to the unit however the center bottom of the faceplate has a very small ding and there is a nick on the far right upper face (see photos 4-5). Fairly clean chassis and it could use more detailed cleaning. I powered the unit for a few moments and the tubes lit up along with the colored lenses (see last photo) but that is all the testing done recently, I have not used this preamplifier since 2002 and it did work back at that time however it will be sold as-is since it may need by now capacitors and deoxit on the controls and the switches so bid accordingly. Look at the photos carefully and contact me with your questions. Well packed up the package weighs 20.8 lbs so U.S. shipping will be either USPS ground advantage or Fedex ground. The audio system is fully tested all function are working No remote The CD player works just fine. I find often it first says error or no disk, but press Stop then Play it will work the 2nd or 3rd time. It is consistent like that, but at most 2-3 tries it plays the CD. DO NOT ASK for a return because it took a few stop/play actions to play a CD. This is part of the sale. Radio, etc work fine. To load the CD you press the Open button on top. Put the CD flat (face up) on the door, and press close. The 3 pics show this.
