Tom Evans Full Monty Mk. 2 A300R Stereo Power Amp Pioneer. This is a stock Pioneer A300R, stripped down to a stereo power amp, with the all the ‘Precision’ mods done and the Full Monty upgrade. The last photo is of the amp on, showing the blue Full Monty LEDs. This is a Mk. 2 ‘Full Monty’ with the latest silicon. One of the last (and only few) done. Tom Evans, along with his obsessive high end designs, is also a world renowned tweaker. He was employed by Pioneer to tweak their UK-tuned products, resulting in the Precision range. He then went all-out with the Full Monty upgrade. This conversion removes the sockets and the switching board, the preamp and volume control (the control knobs are now non-functional), resulting in a pared-down, high performance power amp. The Pioneer A300R is a great sounding classic amp, hot-rodded by Tom Evans to the absolute max it really is a giant killer. Tom Evans Audio Design Hi-Fi equipment demonstrates what can be achieved with a single-minded devotion to accurate music reproduction. Nothing else maters. For example acrylic casework around delicate phono circuitry prevents eddy currents and electromagnetic interference and just sounds better. Every piece of Toms equipment stands head and shoulders above anything else in the same price range. I have to admit that I have become an avid collector of his kit and bought pretty much everything I could. I had three full systems in different rooms of my previous home. Tom Evans The Groove Phonostage This is a Tom Evans Groove MKI in perfect working order. It sounds pretty amazing as you would expect from a product of this quality. Ill throw in a generic kettle lead but Im sure you have your own preference.Ive been using it with a Russ Andrews Reference cable (not included). These were £1,595 in 2000.A new one is currently £2,395. It is internally configured to be 0.2mV and 100R as displayed on the bottom of the case but can be reset by Tom. In addition, this can be brought up to current or the higher up models in the range by Tom. Im only selling as I have too many phono stages so have decided to reduce the number and then perhaps buy one special one.I was very tempted to sell the others and get this upgrade by Tom to SRX+ spec.
