Offered for your consideration is a vintage CAMBRIDGE SOUNDWORKS 4 inch woofer that was original equipment in my ENSEMBLE speakers, manufactured c.1995. This mid/bass driver may have been used in other CAMBRIDGE models from this era, but buyer is fully responsible for assessing its suitability for their speaker. So, please take a look at my large photos, the measurements, and read the remaining description to decide if this splendid CAMBRIDGE mid/bass woofer is correct for your needs. *Although the listing is written in singular to avoid any confusion, three (3) identical CAMBRIDGE SOUNDWORKS 4” woofers are available at the time of this writing. This CAMBRIDGE woofer is in clean, excellent overall condition. The paper cone is structurally flawless and so is the voice coil dustcap. Plus, the black-enameled steel basket is in terrific shape with no scratches or dings and the large magnet structure is perfect as well. Also, the +/- terminals are keyed for polarity (red gasket side = pos.) and have never been soldered on the spades. Most importantly, the aged original polyurethane foam suspension was just replaced with a modern polyether foam surround thats correct for this uncommon platform. It’s been fully tested after refoaming and sounds terrific—strong and clear with fast, detailed midrange and stout low-end for its size. I also tested the DC resistance at 5.3-5.4?, consistent with a 6 ohm nominal driver rating. Lastly, the basket measures 4” square (5?” across from the rounded corners), it stands 2¼” tall (not incl. the surround roll), and the mounting holes are spaced 3¼” adjacent / 4?” diagonal, c-t-c. This high frequency driver may have been used in other CAMBRIDGE speakers from this period, but the buyer is responsible for accurately verifying compatibility with their needs. So, please take a look at my large photos, the measurements, and read the remaining description to decide if this capable CAMBRIDGE tweeter is correct for your speaker. This CAMBRIDGE SOUNDWORKS tweeter is in clean, excellent condition. The textured paper cone is structurally perfect and so is the voice coil dustcap. Plus, the plastic frame has no cracks or chips. And, the +/- terminals measure the standard .205”, are keyed for polarity (red paint = positive), and have never been soldered on the spades. Overall, this CAMBRIDGE tweeter is exceptionally well-preserved. Most importantly, it has been fully tested and sounds very strong and clear with beyond-audibility “sparkle” equaling many dome units. Plus, I measured its DC resistance at 4.1-4.2?, consistent with a 6 ohm nominal driver rating. Lastly, the faceplate measures 3 5/16” x 2 11/16”, it stands 1?”, and the mount holes are spaced 2?16” adjacent / 2 15/16” on the diagonal apart, c-t-c.
