We purchased this speaker new, used it for several years and then replaced it when we put in a new surround sound system. The speaker was then boxed and stored in our smoke-free home. I just performed the standard multimeter test and 9 volt battery test and it checks out good. Cosmetically, the speaker is in very good condition - no cracks or big gouges - no issues with power cord. It does have surface scratches on the top which do not affect function but can be seen depending upon the angle of the light reflecting off of it - see 4th photo.
