Acoustic Energy AE109 Speakers: one owner, excellent condition, boxed and complete. Selling these on as no longer required - haven’t used them for the best part of 20 years...! Purchased new from AudioT’s Swindon branch, by myself, in person, back in February 1999 - see warranty card pictured in photos. Very impressive sounding speakers and What HiFi ‘Best Buys/Recommended’ in their day. Worked very well in a NICAM stereo AV setup, due to their weighty, powerful sound and stereo imaging - benefitted action films in particular, but mostly improved any tv watching experience, especially when fed by a quality amplifier, such as an Audiolab. In fantastic overall condition for there age, sadly and rather annoyingly, the rescue cat got her claws on them when I wasn’t aware, before i put them back in storage after photographing them for listing on eBay...! Although a little unsightly, the damage is superficial, restricted to the main drivers’ foam surrounds and doesn’t affect them sonically - no doubt replacements can be sourced from Acoustic Energy or eBay, should this be of importance to the buyer...?! They are preloaded with Atacama ‘Atabites’ loading, to improve bass response, etc, so heavy again on top of their already substantial weight. Will be sent using Parcelforce’s ‘express48’ service, so any postal costs will reflect this, but they can also be collected or (if preferred) delivered/handed over, providing the distance is no more than say 75miles from Cardiff - Chievely or Strensham Services, for example, or a mutually convenient alternative location.
