For sale is a TECHNICS SL-1500 DIRECT DRIVE MANUAL TURNTABLE, W/Empire 5000 MKI Cartridge and Stylus. This unit is very, very NICE! No weak links here. No smoke or pets. Speed controls for both 33 and 45 are continuous without gaps and quick response. The plastic cover is a little foggy but not terribly bad. No major scratches only very minor. No cracks or splits...not even around or near the periphery of the four mounting screws. The four feet are not original. They have been modified. The previous owner installed soft felt, likely to protect the finish of the shelf or table upon which it sat. It feels like there is somewhat of a spring under the feet. They are not overly springy but certainly give a little to absorb shock. This unit spent its entire life here in southern California where the mild climate and moderate seasonal fluctuation tends to be more forgiving to audio components and hardware compared to more weather-volatile regions. At $65, we know shipping is a little high, but it includes thoughtful planning (handling) to ensure no movement of any parts during transit as well as adequate cushion on all sides.
