Up for sale is a vintage (1970) Empire 1000 ZE/X cartridge. This unit was removed from an Empire Troubadour 598 turntable and was part of the original equipment. The stylus had been damaged and was removed. The cartridge has been tested with an original stylus from another working 1000 ZE/X cartridge and is in perfect working condition. As can be seen by the resistance measurements included the left and right channel are well matched. This is an outstanding cartridge. It was the top of Empires cartridge line at a cost of $99.99 with a published frequency response of 4-40,000 HZ when introduced in 1970. This is equivalent of about $800 in todays buying power.
