I’ve decided to sell the last and best pair of Faraday low density concrete cabinet hifi loudspeakers that I made. I have been using Faraday Towers, so they have not been used very much. Some information is available at the other item I’m selling: a diy loudspeaker construction booklet (incidentally my Emperors are not currently bi-wired). The low density concrete vibration free cabinets took a lot of design and construction time. I notice Monitor Audio are also marketing a stone based design with the same philosophy of eliminating colouration caused by panel vibrations. I’m sure that the Hyphn is another significant improvement, but the £70,000 price tag is also a significant consideration. If you are understandably concerned about repairs during the lifetime of the speakers, I can presently include a spare pair of the bass/midrange drive units. The tweeters, like the other units are normally to be found with a brief trawl of the net. In the case of the tweeters however, it is easier now to simply to replace the voice coil, typically available at around £25. I also have a pair of completed cabinets available and floor stands.
