This is an awesome piece of audio gear! The Emotiva PT-1 is a preamp, meant to connect to a power amp which would then drive a pair of speakers. Its a 2.1 configuration, which means it puts out two channels of stereo audio plus a dedicated subwoofer output. It features a USB digital input that will recognize and decode digital (S/PDIF) signals up to 24/192k from a computer or other device. Same with the digital coax and optical inputs. In addition there is a high quality bluetooth input so you can send audio from a phone, computer or other device. I bought this baby back in May 2024 as a pinch hitter while my Rotel preamp was off for warranty repairs for what I was led to believe would be many months. A month later the Rotel came back and this Emotiva went back in its box. For the price this is a spectacular preamp. A good DAC. An FM tuner. Digital Inputs galore. Rock solid Bluetooth streaming. It doesn’t color the source, and I was exercising it with a 500W Rotel Amp driving Vandersteen 2Ci speakers. I have had this unit for a while and it operates and looks as good as new. I took it out of service a little while ago because I am selling off electronics that I dont use anymore.
