Linear Diatonic / RSC ? EL84 Push Pull Valve Amplifier Working. Please READ!!! Don’t really know whether this was made by Linear or RSC, it does differ from the Diatonic in that it has one volume control instead of two and it also has a switched input. As you can see build quality is very good using point to point wiring. So in conclusion can’t say 100% who manufactured this but it does look very similar to the Diatonic, somebody suggested it may have been manufactured by Whitley Stentorian but I honestly don’t know. If anyone knows please get in touch. Looking on line at other Linear Diatonics they seem to have smaller transformers than this one. As you can see some work has been carried out on this, it works but has a few issues, slight instability on high gain input at high volume, output valves look like they could do with replacing, main coupling capacitors have been replaced so there’s no problems there, if I were going to keep it I think I would change the resistors for modern ones & change any suspect capacitors. The pots seem OK but would probably benefit from changing. Sold for parts not working. Last two pictures show amp switched on with valve heaters on. So a nice project for someone wanting to bring one of these old classics back to life.

Stunning Red Dansette Major 1960’s Valve AutoChanger Record Player-Fully Working This Beautiful vintage Dansette Major valve record player is from the early 1960’s and is in exceptional original condition!! It has a built in valve single ended EL84 amplifier and large elliptical speaker giving that warm classic valve amp sound. The deck is a BSR Auto-changer and can play all speeds and sizes of records. The auto change function means you can stack around 5 records up and it will play them one after the other. It has a Ronette turn over cartridge with one side for LPs/Singles and the other side for 78’s. The deck has been fully serviced including all parts cleaned and/or lubricated as required. The controls have been cleaned with contact cleaner for a smooth and crackle free operation and the amp has been checked over electronically. It has a three core earthed mains lead fitted with a modern safe plug with 3 amp fuse. Please see picture for the condition. In my opinion it is in fantastic condition for its age and all original. A perfect record player to listen to your old 60’s record on and reminisce of past times! It runs on 230/240v at 50hz only. Genalex EL84 Gold Lion matched pair power tubes Ive had these tubes for maybe 2 years. I swapped them in/out of several amps but in the end rolled in JJs. I guess I am a JJ kind of guy. These have no more than 8 hours run time on them (actually less). Lots of life left. They sound good, no issues with them. Maybe they are a little too articulate for me.... Free shipping via USPS.
