A note on the batteries, Im not sure how these charge. The contacts are in a different place to the installed battery packs, and dont appear to line up with the charging station. I could be missing something really simple with how they work, but Im not too familiar with this equipment, so please check. All in really great condition. Sony ECM-S 220 DAT Walkman Microphone - Very Rare - Please Read Full Details. Very rare item produced by Sony for use with SONY DAT Walkman PLEASE READ FULL DETAILS I only used this item approximately 3 or 4 times and is in excellent, nearly new condition. It has been stored away for over 30 years (!!) It is for use EXCLUSIVELY with SONY DAT Walkman (the one I had was a TCD-D3) and DOES NOT have an internal battery (which many Sony microphones do have). It is powered from a DC outlet point on the DAT Walkman (see photo) and cant be used on any recorder that does not have the specific DC outlet point AND a separate Audio input. Both plugs come off a single lead that is connected to the microphone. (See photo) The outer packaging shows signs of wear. The inner card packaging is torn at one end. I have tested the microphone before putting it up for sale and it works perfectly. The microphone is in near mint / hardly used condition. PLEASE NOTE ! I seem to remember (well, it IS 30+ years ago) a detachable foam cover that would fit over the end of the microphone (supposedly for when you were recording outdoors in a 10-force gale). This is NOT included in this sale. Before bidding, please check that your DAT Walkman is compatible with this microphone. I can confirm that it is compatible with (and was released at the same time as) the Sony TCD-D3 DAT Walkman.
