I bought this VPI Signature 21 in Rosewood from Audio Advisor (an authorized VPI dealer) on June 29, 2022 (I have proof of purchase that I can provide to the buyer). It comes with the VPI fatboy gimbal tonearm as shown in the photos. The turntable is not even 2 years old. I purchased it with a EAT Jo No. 8 moving coil cartridge. If you were to buy these two today from Audio Advisor it would cost you $13,049 plus tax. I am also throwing in a Waynes Audio ring clamp that I purchased separately for $600. The VPI turntable went into a second, higher-end system. My main home-office system features a Technics SL-1200GAE turntable. Over the last couple of years my listening habits have changed considerably and I am not spinning vinyl as much as I used to. The VPI Signature 21 has probably played no more than 20 albums in the time that I have owned it. Some would say the turntable and cartridge hasnt even been broken in yet. In any event, I am not playing vinyl enough to justify keeping the VPI. And I am not using the Technics all that much either. Over the last 20 years I have been transcribing a lot of my vinyl to high resolution digital audio, mostly 24bit/352.8KHz FLAC and DSD256. I play these hi resolution digital needle drops through a high-end DAC and listen on my 64 Audio u18t reference IEMs. I have been dismantling the second system for months and selling it off in bits and pieces. The VPI Signature 21 is the last of it to go. I am sure I will get questions about the warranty so I will provide that information here. VPI warranties are not transferable. So if you require a turntable with a warranty then you should order a new one from VPI or from an authorized dealer, where you will pay full price. The current cost of the Signature 21 in Rosewood without a cartridge is $10,250. A new Jo No. 8 moving coil cartridge will set you back $2,799. I also have a phono preamp that I paired with the VPI Signature 21 that I will put up for sale in a separate listing. One of the nicest HiFi / Hi Fi record turntables / record players on the market. Upgraded Grato Sonata 3 cartridge with original box and not many hours on it. Shipped to me by an eBay dealer in Germany a couple years ago. EAT used to offer these with several tonearm choices including the hard-to-find Ortofon RS-309D 12” tonearm as seen here. Displayed and used with pride. Now selling to fund home upgrades!European Audio Team is known for some fine turntables and tonearms. However, you don’t see their Forte models for sale very often. This one is the Forte S, which has a pair of belt-drive motors in the same base as the platter. Runs two speeds, 33 or 45 rpm. In the crate it weighs in at 75.5 kg which is 166 pounds shipping weight! The table itself weighs 44 kg. Hard to describe the sound as it has none - it just sends out the signals from disc without adding anything. This is a lifetime piece with no further upgrades necessary! I used the Ortofon RS-309D tonearm with the proper adapter collar it came with, included with sale. The factory specs for this tonearm show a 16mm center shaft diameter (the narrowest part of the collar, look way down in the opening) in case you are considering how or if this Ortofon collar might work to mount your own, different than my Ortofon, tonearm.EAT makes and VANA (their US distributor) can sell you a different adapter collar for use with EAT’s proprietary, and even another for SME (I think) tonearms.“Local Pickup Only” means it is easiest if you come and get it. However, I am willing to assist your shipping plans if that’s not possible for you. This is too heavy to get a normal shipping quote so I won’t know what it will cost to ship to you. It came to me by truck with liftgate service. You can assume all risk of loss or damage in transit and arrange for such a truck freight pickup from my home address in central KY, USA. But it would have to be fully paid for before I would release the crate to any shipper. Again though better yet, drive in and pick it up. Winner to pay a nonrefundable deposit of $500 and then pay the balance in cash or otherwise cleared funds before I let this thing leave my property.
