Here we have up for auction one used power transformer removed from a Galaxy Saturn Turbo base station radio. Also used in the RCI2990, original 2995DX, Eagle 5000 and General Stonewall Jackson radios. This transformer came from a General Stonewall Jackson radio. Removed, because the ENTIRE power supply was completely upgraded to a chinese-made switchmode power supply. And this component was left over. Never have seen specs published for these. Has two 120-Volt primary windings you can wire in series for a 240-Volt circuit or in parallel to run it from 120 Volts. This one has the usual 3-wire center-tapped secondary winding. The brown center tap wire is clearly thinner than the black and white wires. Typical output is around 17 VAC under load, higher unloaded. I did **NOT** try to analyze. Didnt keep a record when it was removed from service. We replaced it because the rectifier/filter/regulator circuits that it powered are just plain suicidal. The radios original voltage regulator circuit did not have any kind of current limiting, and absolutely NO protection from overvoltage. We adopted the habit of calling the original power supply for this radio just, plain SUICIDAL! Consequence of this reality is that I have an excess supply of this transformer, and no practical way to apply it. So out they go. If nobody here is interested, theyll go to the local scrap-metal guys. It will fit in a USPS Priority Mail Medium flat-rate carton. Should survive okay, even in light of the nearly nine-pound shipping weight. So now we get to find out if it has a market value greater than the cost of sending it to a new home. Yes, it worked when we removed it. But THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT IT WILL WORK FOR YOU. Hence the magic Ebay phrase For Parts Or Not Working.
