Der natürliche Verschleiß mechanischer und elektronischer Bauteile bewirkt auch bei einem Accuphase nach längerer Betriebszeit klangliche Veränderungen. Bei einem in die Jahre gekommenen Verstärker sorgen vor allem Schalter, Regler, Relais, Kondensatoren und Lötstellen für Knister- und andere Störgeräusche und unter Umständen sogar für Ausfälle.
