This is the low output copper coil version, the original Te Kaitora had silver wire coils (see specs below). It has about 55 hours on it, beautiful very neutral sound. I bought this from a well known ebay and Audiogon seller who rebuilds Linn turntables. He bought it new and used it as a demo cartridge. He put about 50 hours on it and needed the cash, so he sold it. I wanted to compare it to my Zyx Ultimate Airy cartridge and put about 5 hours on it. In my system, I prefer the Airy, though many would prefer the Dynavector for its neutrality and more precise imaging. It comes with the box, mounting materials and papers you see in the first image. I tried as best I could to get good images of the cantilever and diamond. As you can see it is in mint condition. It retails for $3,650.00. The original Te Kaitora moving coil cartridge was the result of collaboration between Dynavector Japan and Dynavector New Zealand. The Te Kaitora allowed analogue enthusiasts to embark on a voyage of discovery to the outer limits of vinyl reproduction. The improved Te Kaitora Rua phono cartridge continues the journey by incorporating many of the newest features of its Dynavector stable-mates, the XV-1s and XX-2. The Te Kaitora Rua phono cartridge has even managed to improve on the originals silk-like treble and openness.
