Selling an excellent condition pair of Dynaudio Special 40 bookshelf speakers in the Black Vine color. Its like a rosewood - fairly dark and beautiful. Comes with original packaging. Ive had them for 2 years. Bought new for $3500. They sound huge. I have speakers 3 times their size that dont have the soundstage these do, or the stunningly beautiful treble. The Esotar tweeters on them might be the thing that makes them sing. One tweeter has a small dimple on it - came that way and doesnt impact performance. No scratches anywhere. They look new. I have too many speakers and were moving so trying to downsize. Thats the only reason for selling; they are spectacular bookshelfs. Measure approx 8 x 14 x 12. Approx 18 lbs each. Take the new pressure conduit. It’s a shaped vent in the back of the hybrid magnet system that allows more space in the rear chamber. That space packs in more damping material and reduces back-pressure while the shape itself optimizes airflow coming backwards from the rear of the dome. Then there’s the outlet; the aero-coupled pressure-release system. It sits underneath the voice-coil and reduces unwanted pressure build-up that could affect its movement. Stopping those pockets of air from forming reduces resonance – and less resonance equals even greater potential for detail. And then there’s the finish. A pair of used Dynaudio Audience 42 speakers in good working condition. They have been significantly upgraded with:-D280 tweeters, -Mundorf MCap EVO Aluminum Oil capacitors, -Mundorf MResist SUPREME resisters, -and high quality air-core coils. (Note: Original coils and resisters are disconnected from the circuits. One tweeter looks more glossy than another, however, it does not affect sound.)
