Dynaco ST-70 Stereo Power Amplifier. The amp works and sounds great. It does, however, have original capacitors and other components which you will want to replace for even better sound, longevity and reliability. The output tubes are manufactured by Mullard and branded as Westinghouse. The output tubes test strong. There are other tubes which are branded as Dynaco. The chassis looks nice but is a little dull. I think it will polish up nicely. Overall, a very nice amp that will make someone a great daily user with a little maintenance and restoration.NOTWITHSTANDING THE ABOVE DESCRIPTION, NO TUBES ARE INCLUDED; AMPLIFIER SOLD WITHOUT TUBES. It aint pretty, has some rust stains on the chrome of the chassis. There are some extra holes where I once had a rack panel attached. Missing one of the rubber feet on the bottom.. But, It does work, pictures of scope/meter show 1k sine wave right at clipping into 8-ohm load. Power = Voltage/Squared Divided by Resistance, works out to around 69 watts... Vintage Dynaco Dynakit Stereo 70 Tube Amplifier. All DYNACO Branded tubes. Unit works and sounds great. Very clean inside and out. Original, one owner since new. Still has a repair ticket from 1972 on the power cord. Also for sale on eBay separately is the Dynaco FM-1 tuner. Also in nice condition. I wiped this unit down but you can see with a little attention the chassis wil shine up great. No rust anywhere on the unit. Please check the pictures for condition. You are looking at a Dynaco Stereo 70 bias meter. This looks like a handmade kit from the 1960s or so. To use it, you would hook it up to your Dynaco Stereo 70 amplifier (NOT included), add the D-cell type battery and it would tell you the current bias of each side of the amp. You would change a setting on the amp and could switch to the other side and set the bias there. Dynaco Stereo 70 NOT included - this is for the bias meter only.

This listing is for a rare find. It is a Melos Modified Dynaco Stereo 70. Melos went on to start his own hi-fi company. His TM- 90ST uses 6550a tubes and a compactron front end. The Dynaco was likely his inspiration for that design. The amp has extensive modifications. El34 tubes have been replaced with 6550 tubes. The front end has been replaced with Compactron 6u10 tubes. A solid state rectifier was added. The power supply has been beefed up to support the new tubes. High-quality RCA inputs were added to the front. The rear sports a new power cord and a set of modern binding posts. Currently, the 4 ohm and 8 ohm taps are wired. The 16 ohm tap is capped with wire nuts. The transformer housings and case bottom were painted blue. Machined aluminum feet were added as well. The iron is original Dynaco. The tubes are a matched quad of Sovetek 6550WE. One tube is missing the center locating post. Though it is not hard to orient the tube properly. Tubes have lots of life left. The sound is very clean and detailed. The amplifier doesnt color the sound as much as some other tube amps can. You are more than welcome to demo the amplifier in person if youre near Buffalo, NY.
